A sweet shop opened up on campus earlier this year and I've been addicted to macarons ever since (pistachio is my favorite). The manager (who I've grown quite close to) actually tells me, "See you tomorrow!" as I leave. Considering the fact that I'm our school's former nutrition intern, this is slightly embarrassing haha. The only two things that give me peace of mind is that 1) I can use meal plan dollars here (read: I don't have to spend real money) and 2) the macarons are small (read: I can justify buying several at a time). Perhaps if I frame this print on my wall (my friend brought it back for me from Ladurée Paris), I will feel like my craving is already satisfied? We'll see.
Also, speaking of sweets....My boyfriend and I had a nice dinner at a coffe house on campus last Thursday then headed back to the dorm. Shortly after, an a capella group arrived right outside of my door (with a rose) to sing The Beatles' "Till There Was You". Turns out, Bill had hired them to serenade me! He then presented me with a box of chocolate-covered strawberries and I presented him with Edward Monton's book called Love (Note: I love Edward Monton's short stories!). All in all, it was a short and [super] sweet Valentine's evening. I hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day/weekend with loved ones (or by yourself!) too :)

Aww what a sweet and thoughtful Valentine's day!
ReplyDeleteAnd pistachio macarons are one of my favorites too! (My favorite being the dark chocolate ones from Laduree!) Also, you can add to the fact that macarons are gluten free and...high in fiber? Haha,

Oo I have yet to try the dark chocolate ones. I'm sure they're delicious! And I didn't know that macarons are gluten-free and rich in fiber. More reasons to love them :)
